Towards Evaluation of Skill and Kansei for Ship Handling Based on Physiological Index

This paper describes the evaluation of skill and kansei of specialists and students for ship handling. We evaluate the specialists’ performance using a simulator; moreover, we ascertain the students’ stress on board by testing salivary amylase. We show the effect of physiological indices from the specialists’ and students’ performance and the characteristics of their mental workload with LF/HF value (heart rate variability), nasal temperature and salivary amylase activity. In this paper, we confirm whether the response to their performance for the ship handling is clear or not.
